Eli M. Coblentz, 78, of Portland, IN, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 03, 2016.   He was born on Friday, January 15, 1937, in Stark County, OH. to Menno J. and Mary (Troyer) Coblentz.   He married Mattie E. (Schwartz)  Coblentz on Thursday, February 14, 1957 in Geneva, IN. She passed away on April 19, 2005.  Eli was a farmer and worked construction. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

 

Survivors Include:Sons - Menno (Effie) Coblentz, Portland, IN., Danny (Mary) Coblentz, Portland, IN.,  Eli (Saloma) Coblentz, Portland, IN., Daughters - Esther (David) Hilty, Hudson, KY.,  Mary (Jonas) Schwartz, Seymour, MO.,  Barbara (Jacob) Schwartz, Seymour, MO.,  Mattie (Sammy) Burkholder, Seymour, MO.,

Brothers - Emanuel Coblentz, OH., Henry (Martha) Coblentz, OH.,  Jonas Coblentz, PA.,  Wallace (Ruth Ann) Coblentz, MO., Sisters - Nancy Coblentz, Belize, CA.,  Anna Schwartz, Geneva, IN.,  Mandy (David) Raber, Romainia,   Esther (Ron) Ranally, OH., 72 Grandchildren , and 27 Great Grandchildren.

 

 

He was preceded in death by his Father - Menno J. Coblentz, Mother - Mary (Troyer) Coblentz,

Wife - Mattie E. (Schwartz) Coblentz, Brothers – Ramond, Dan, and Menno Coblentz, Sister - Mary Coblentz, 2 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

 

Viewing will be held at the Coblentz residence 505 E. 500 N. Portland, IN. Monday January 4, 2016 from 1: 00 PM til 8:00PM and January 5, 2016 from 9:00 AM til 8:00PM.

 

Funeral Services will be held at the Coblentz residence 505 E. 500 N. Portland, IN. on January 6, 2016 at 9:00AM with Dan U. Shelter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bearcreek Cemetery in Bryant.

Kathy M. Rogers, 69, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 7:21 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born on Sunday, February 24, 1946, in Dayton, KY.  She married Glen Rogers on Saturday, July 08, 1967 in Montpelier, IN.  Kathy was a 1965 graduate of the Montpelier High School. She worked at Caylor Nickel Hospital in Bluffton. She had also worked at the Montpelier Middle School in the cafeteria, and had also worked at the Montpelier Glove factory. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and watching her grandchildren. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Hartford City.

A service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be at St. John's Catholic Church 209 South Spring Street Hartford City at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 02, 2016 with the Father David Newton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Richard L. "Dick" Markley

Richard "Dick" Markley, 74, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 12:48 PM on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN.  He was born on Wednesday, December 03, 1941, in Poneto, IN.  He married Tina Markley on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Montpelier.  Dick graduated from Liberty Center High School. He was a member of the Montpelier Legion. He retired from Franklin Electric, Bluffton, IN. in 2001 where he had worked for over 40 years. He had served as Union President while at Franklin Electric. He enjoyed racing and building engines for race cars.

Glancy, 73, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 12:27 AM on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  She was born on Monday, July 20, 1942, in Huntington County, IN.  She married Phil  Glancy on Saturday, June 02, 1962 in Warren.  Jane was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School in Huntington County. She had spent her early years in Lancaster Twp. in Huntington County. She attended Pleasantdale U.M. Church. Jane enjoyed fishing. She had worked for Delux Coil in HUntington and had spent from 1977-2008 working for the laundromat on Main St. in Hartford City.

Loving Survivors Include: Husband - Phil Glancy, Hartford City, IN., Son - Todd (Linette) Glancy, Fairmount, IN., Daughter - Tina (Drew) Daily, Earlsboro, OK., and grandchildren  Chase Glancy,  Regan Glancy,  Abigail Daily, Audrey Daily, and  Ava Daily.

 

She was preceded in death by her Father - Lloyd Lahr, Mother - Wava Lahr, and Brother - Ovid Lahr.

A private service was held Wednesday December 30, 2015. Interment was followed in the Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, IN.

Aaron L. Fritch, 46, of Sweetser , IN , formerly of Van Buren , IN , passed away after an extended illness at 8:40 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born on Tuesday, May 27, 1969, in Marion , IN.  He married Kimberley Rudisel on Thursday, April 17, 2003 in Marion , IN.  Aaron was a 1987 graduate of Eastbrook High School . He formerly worked for Stride Rite, Bendix and Weaver Popcorn. Aaron enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching his daughter play sports and spending time with his grandbabies.
