Louise (Norton) Nelson, 86, of Berne, IN, passed away at 12:01 AM on Sunday, February 07, 2016 at Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne, IN.  She was born on Thursday, March 21, 1929, in Brookville, IN.  She married Harold "Gene" Nelson on Friday, June 19, 1953 in Portland, Indiana.  Louise worked at C.T.S. in Berne, IN, Kroger in Portland, IN and at the Bryant Truck Stop in Bryant, IN.  She was also a homemaker.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and her Harmonica.  She was a former resident of Bryant, IN.

Survivors include: sister - Juanita Miracle, Decatur, IN; brother - Bobby Gene Norton, Berne, IN; sister-in-law - Ruth Miller, Berne, IN and Jo (Fred) Zeik, Rockford, OH; nieces & nephews – Several; great nieces & nephews – Several and several gr. gr. nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her: husband - Harold "Gene" Nelson; parents- Silas and Maggie (Hilton) Norton; brothers - Paul Norton, Floyd Norton and Walter Norton; 2 sisters - Mae Ellenberger and Evelyn Clark

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday, February 12, 2016 from 10:00 AM to11:00 at the funeral home.

A service to celebrate Louise’s life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 12, 2016 with the Rev. Wilbur Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.

Mrs. Betty Lou Rowe, 87, of Gas City, IN., formerly of Warren and Van Buren, IN, passed away at 1:01PM on Friday 5, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.  She was born on Thursday, July 26, 1928 in South Bend, IN, to Ralph C. and Frances M. (Sietz) Barnes.  Betty was a 1946 graduate of Mishawaka High School. She married George R. Rowe on August 31, 1947; he passed away on January 14, 2009. Betty was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother.  She has formerly been employed for a short time at the World Gospel Mission in Marion.

Survivors include: Son James (Maria) E. Rowe, Gas City, IN, Daughters-Marcia Newby, Kerrville, TX and Teresa (Frank) Parks, Sweetser, IN, 10 grandchildren, Tom Newby, Ted Newby, Tena Newby, Trudy (John) Howe, Tracey Sprowl, Tammy (Matt) Slaughter, Samuel J. Rowe, Kristopher J. Rowe, Katelyn A. Rowe, and Kandace A. Rowe and several great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at the Jonesboro Main Street Wesleyan Church in Jonesboro on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00AM with Pastor Ken Dykhoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion National Cemetery

Jeffrey A. Chandler

Jeffrey A. Chandler, 50, of Montpelier, IN, passed away unexpectedly at his residence   on Friday, February 05, 2016.  He was born on April 26, 1965 in Bluffton, IN.  Jeff was the only son of  Larry & Lois Chandler and the favorite brother of Pam, Shari, and Veronica. Jeff attended Blackford County Schools and worked at Hartford City Paper. He belonged to the United Steelworkers Union. Jeff enjoyed family friends, fishing and attending auctions.

Jeff is survived by his son- Clay Chandler, Portland IN., Mother- Lois Chandler, Montpelier, IN., Sisters-Pam Spiedel, Montpelier, IN., Shari (Tracy) Michael, Hartford City, IN., and Veronica (Doug) Mosier, Whitefield, Maine.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Larry Chandler.

To honor Jeff’s wishes there will be no viewing or service.

Arnold L. Conner, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.  He was born on April 12, 1935 in Noble Co., IN. He married Donna Diane Sprague in 1956. Arnold formerly worked at Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington for many years. 

Surviviors include: Wife, Donna Diane Conner, Warren, IN, Sons-Tim (Brenda) Conner, Warren, Mark (Linda) Conner, Warren, Sister Bonnie Newman, Milford, IN, 1 grandchildren and 2 gr. grandchildren. He was preceded in death by this parents-Riley & Fredonna (Green) Conner. 

A graveside service was held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.
