 Mark Anderson, 56 a former Dunkirk resident, and more recently ofMt. Pleasant, PA died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 in the University of Pittsburg Medical Center in Pittsburg, PA. after an extended illness.Mark was born in Portland, IN on January 15, 1958 and was the son of Lloyd D. Anderson and Anna Mae Clark.  He attended Jay Co. High School.Mark was employed by Indiana Glass Co. and then was employed by L.E. Smith Glass Co. of Mt. Pleasant, PA.

Mark is survived by a son, Nathaniel Anderson of Montpelier, a sister Lori Bender of Uniondale, a brother, Clark (Mary) Anderson of Redkey, step-sister,Dara (Gene) Veazey of Lakeland, FL., sister-in-law, Toni Anderson of Albany, his stepmother, Annabelle Anderson of Daleville, Three Aunts, Treva Whetsel of Alexandria, Onalee Bradley of Bluffton and Frances Glancy of Hartford City. Also surviving are uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd D. Anderson and Anna Mae Collins, a brother, Chris Anderson and brother-in-law, Robert Bender.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in Walker-Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier with Pastor Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial willfollow in Brookside Cemetery.  Friends are invited to call at the funeral on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Wanda Mae Draper

Wanda Mae Draper, 87, of Marion, IN, passed away at 8:30 AM on Thursday, October 02, 2014 at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion, IN.  She was born on Sunday, March 06, 1927, in Hammond, IN.  She married Warren  Draper on Saturday, December 14, 1946, He Survives.  Wanda was a 1945 graduate of Whiting High school.  She was very active in her church, Center Chapel United Methodist Church, with Missions.  Wanda and Warren took many trips to different missions.  Henderson Settlement, Red Bird Mission, Mud Creek (all in Kentucky).  Four Corners, Native American Missions were also among their area of service.  In addition, they also supported several missionaries.  Wanda was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Women.  Wanda had been a former Van Buren City Clerk.  She had worked at Weaver popcorn, Van Buren and had also worked at the J.C. Penny Catalog Department in Marion.

A service to celebrate Wanda's life will be at Van Buren United Methodist Church-Fellowship Hall 108 South 2nd St. Van Buren at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 06, 2014 with the Rev. Mark Sanders officiating.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.

Carolyn J. Gearheart, 69, of Warren (Wells County), IN, passed away at 7:56 AM on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at her residence in Warren.  She was born on Friday, December 01, 1944, in Wells County, IN.  She married John Gearheart on Saturday, December 02, 1961 in Kingsland, IN.  Carolyn attended Lancaster High School in Wells County. She enjoyed her flowers, horses, camping and her dog Berry, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn and her husband John attended Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church in Wells County.

Richard J "Smitty" Schmit

 Richard J "Smitty" Schmit, 65, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 6:58 PM on Thursday, October 02, 2014 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, June 28, 1949, in Decatur, IN.  Richard was a member of  the first graduating class at South Adams High School.  He was retired from CTS in Berne, where he had worked for many years.  Richard also served for several years served as Sergeant for the Geneva Police Department, and was in charge of the Geneva Police Reserves. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, so much so that Richard passed on his hunting knowledge and skill by volunteering his time teaching many young hunters as state certified hunter education instructor. He was a member of the Moose Family Center # 417, Portland, IN., Fraternal Order of Eagles #1291 Celina, OH, and Knights of Columbus, Decatur, IN
 
Richard is survived by his: Mother - Beatrice Schmit, Geneva, IN., Brother - Ralph (wife, Rita) Schmit, Celina, OH., Sister - Alice Minch, Bryant, IN., Sister - Martha (husband, Wayne) Bollenbacher, Celina, OH., Sister - Regina Schmit, Chula Vista, CA., Brother-in-Law Paul Minnich, Portland, IN.  Richard is also survived by several Nieces& Nephews. 
 
He was preceded in death by his:Father - Gilbert P Schmit, Sister - Ruth Ann Minnich, and Brother-in-law - David Minch.

Lance R. Sutherby

Lance R. Sutherby, 52, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 10:10 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Montpelier Motor Speedway.  He was born on Saturday, August 11, 1962, in Detroit, MI.  He married Vanita Burns on Saturday, July 13, 1991 in Huntington, Indiana. Lance passed away expectedly at the race track doing what he enjoyed most; racing cars.  He was part of the Speedway for over 20 years.  Racing was his life and he loved every minute of it.  Lance had worked for Bryant's Auto Parts in Wells County for many years.  He enjoyed all of his adopted family.

 

Survivors Include: Wife - Vanita (Burns) Sutherby, Montpelier, IN., Sons - David Sutherby and Andrew (Wife, Marcie) Hess, both of Montpelier, IN., Brother - David Beers, Fort Wayne, IN., Sisters - Sherrie Motts, Clarksville, TN., Roxanna Sutherby, Bluffton, IN., Crystal Sutherby, Fort Lauderdale, FL., Grandsons - Adam Stewart, FL., Trevor Felder, Montpelier, IN., Shane Smith, FL., Bradley Sutherby, Montpelier, IN., 6 Nieces and 6 Nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by his: Parents- David N. & Patricia (Homan) Sutherby and Daughter - Sandy Hess.

 

There will be no visitation or funeral services for Lance.
