Theodale Kariger Weser-Jacobsen

Theodale Kariger Weser-Jacobsen, 95, of Warren, IN, passed away at 1:15 AM on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.  She was born on Thursday, January 17, 1918, in Warren, IN, the daughter of the late John P. and Annis (Stroup) Kariger.  Mrs. Jacobsen graduated from the Warren High School Class of 1936.  She had been a secretary for the Department of Defense for many years.  Mrs. Jacobsen and her sister Francile McIntire enjoyed researching geneology and had written a book together about their family history.  Mrs. Jacobsen also enjoyed gardening, walking and playing games especially bridge and Rummikub.

Survivors: Daughter - Nina "Joan" Ross, Gaithersburg, MD, Daughter - Jocelyn Smith, Warren, IN, Son - William Jerrold (Catherine) Weser, Santa Fe, NM, Grandchildren - 6, Great Grandchildren - 4, Extended Family - Nieces and Nephews,  She was preceded in death by her: Father - John P. Kariger, Mother - Annis (Stroup) Kariger, 1st Husband - William F. Weser, 2nd Husband - Charles Jacobsen, Sister - Francile McIntire, Brother - Holland Leon Kariger.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave. Warren on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.  A service to celebrate Mrs. Jacobsen's life will be at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave. Warren at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with the Rev. Gerald Moreland officiating.  Interment will be private in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.  Preferred memorials:  In lieu of flowers: Muscular Dystrophy Association (In Honor of Mrs. Jacobsen's Great Nephew Collin McIntire) 2869 East DuPont Rd.  Fort Wayne, IN  46825

Alvin D. "Al" Hamman, 58, of Warren, IN, passed away at 12:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his residence in Warren, IN.  He was born on Wednesday, June 22, 1955, in Defiance, OH.  Al graduated from the Ayersville High School, Ayersville, OH.  Al married Rhonda K. Driver on July 1st 1989 in Defiance, OH.  He was the owner of the Vac Shop in Defiance, OH, and Rhonda's Boxworks.  Al enjoyed horses, riding his motorcycle, going to church and spending time with his kids and grandkids.  Al was a member of the Bluffton Church of Christ.  Survivors Include: Mother - Marjorie (Justice) Hamman, Defiance, OH, Wife - Rhonda (Driver) Hamman, Warren, IN, Son - Aric David, Defiance, OH, Son - Andy R. (Linda) Hamman, Defiance, OH, Brother - Steve (Leotta) Anderson, Ohio City, OH, Brother - Terry (Sherlene) Bowser, McComb, OH, Grandchildren - Machelle Hamman, Shane Leazier, Arion Hamman, Makayla Berry, Xander Dunno, Kiera Searles, Izaya Dunno, Zane Dunno, Addyson Dunno, Kalia Richardson. He was preceded in death by his: Father - Floyd A. "John" Hamman, Brother - Fred Hamman, Sister - Marlene Babcock.  A memorial service to celebrate Al's life will be at Knight Bergman Civic Center 132 S Nancy Street Warren, IN  46792 at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2013.  A celebration of Al's Life will follow at the Knight Bergman Civic Center.

Amanda Wickey of Geneva passed away 11-29-2013 at 12:55 PM at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IN.  Amanda was born September 6th, 2013, the daughter of Solomon S. and Mary A.R. Wickey of Geneva, IN.  Amanda was a member of the Old Order Amish.  Survivors include: Her partents, 8 brothers: Solomon (Loretta) Wickey of Grabill, IN. Reuben (Debra) Wickey of New Haven, IN.  and Jacob, Alvin, Jonothon, David, Mervin and Jerry all at home.  6 Sister: Lucy (Marvin) of Grabill, IN.  Esther (Eddie) of Grabill, IN.  Anna Mae, Mary, Elma and Ada all at home.  Grandparents: Solomon J. Wickey, Deceased and Anna Mae Wickey of Auburn, IN.  Reuben M. Schwartz, Deceased and Ada Schwartz of Berne, IN. A Funeral Service was held on Sunday December 1st, 2013 with the Bishop Amos M. Girod officiating.  Burial took place at Bunker Hill Cemetery. 

Kenneth Wayne "Bo" Rippy

Kenneth Wayne "Bo" Rippy, 57, of Warren, IN, passed away at 10:03 AM on Sunday, December 08, 2013 at Markle Health Care in Markle, IN.  He was born on Friday, August 24, 1956, in Belleville, IL.  Bo graduated from New Athens High School Class of 1975 in New Athens, ILL.  Bo had been a cook at Hoosierland restaurant of Warren and a dishwasher at Ugaldes restaurant of Warren.  Bo enjoyed playing softball and had attended the Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Warren. Survivors Include: Father - Kenneth Wilburn (Donna) Rippy, Warren, IN, Sister - Sandra Rippy, Warren, IN, Brother - Clinton (Cindy) Rippy, Andrews, IN, Step Sister - Roberta Falk, Upland, IN, Step Brother - John Wade, Nieces & Nephews - Several, Great Nieces & Nephews - Several.  He was preceded in death by his: Mother - Betty (Bevelot) Rippy.

Services were private.  Preferred memorials:  To the funeral home to help the family during this difficult time.

 

Victor Henry Laux

Victor Henry Laux, 97, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 12:55 PM on Sunday, December 01, 2013 at Chalet Village Health & Rehabilitation in Berne, IN.  He was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1915, in Bryant, IN.  He married Fay Weaver on October 11, 1940, she passed away on December 5, 1999.  Victor was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. Victor was a member of the Decatur American Legion Post#43. He retired from GE in Decatur in 1976, after 20 years of service. Victor was a member of the St. Mary of The Presentation Parish in Geneva.
 
Survivors include: Son - Larry (Wife,Nancy) Laux, Berne, IN., Daughter - Janet (Husband, Tony) Lengerich, Decatur, IN, 9 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren, Sister - Sister Rosie Laux, Salem Heights, OH, Sister - Esther Frisbie, St. Marys, OH.
 
He was preceded in death by his: Father - Joseph Laux, Mother - Frances (Wellman) Laux, Wife – Fay (Weaver) Laux, Brothers - Eugene Laux, Ray Laux, Joe Laux, Sisters – Sister Agnes Laux, Helen Montgomery and Bernice Eichelberger.
 
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Wednesday, December 04, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home Thursday, December 05, 2013, before the service.
 
Mass will be held at the St. Mary's of the Presentation Church 5790E. – 1100 S. Geneva at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 05, 2013 with Father J. Bosco Perera officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church Cemetery in Geneva.
