Mary A. Shrader, 88, of Hartford City, IN,  and a lifetime resident of Washington Twp. (Blackford Co.) passed away at 6:45 AM on Sunday, May 08, 2016 at her residence in Hartford City. She was born on Monday, November 07, 1927, in Hartford City.  She married John Marion Shrader on Sunday, August 04, 1946 in Grant County, IN.  Mary was a 1945 graduate of Washington Twp. School. She was a farm wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, planting her flowers, and camping.

 

Loving Survivors Include: Daughter - Becky (Ray) Scott, Delaware, OH., Son - Steven Shrader, Hartford City, IN., Sister - Carol Jackson, Gaston, IN., Grandchildren- Jennifer Kegarise, Amber LaFrance, Kimberly LaFrance, Matt LaFrance, Chazz Shrader, Jack Shrader, and Fallon Schreurs, and 12 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Chester Lee Perkins, Mother - Maxine (Foreman) Perkins,

Husband - John Marion Shrader, Brother - Donnie Lee Perkins, Sister - Lois May Steckley, and daughter in law- Patricia A. Shrader.

A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home  at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.  Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Montpelier.

John "Ronnie" Gibson

John "Ronnie" Gibson, 77, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 8:17 AM on Monday, May 02, 2016 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, November 08, 1938, at Blackford County Hospital to John Henry and Vesta (Harold) Gibson.  He married Connie Cooper on Sunday, December 22, 1963 at the Church of Christ, Montpelier, IN.  John was a graduate of Montpelier High School in 1957. He spent 11 years with the Indiana National Guard, and attended the Military Academy. He started in the electrical trade and worked as an electrician for the next 35 years, at one time owning Gibson Electric. He was an active member of the Montpelier Kiwanis Club for many years. After retirement, he became an avid gardener and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of raising plants from seed, and getting them to produce.

 

Loving Survivors Include: Wife - Connie (Cooper) Gibson, Montpelier, IN., Son - John C. (Cynthia) Gibson, Centennial, CO., Son - Heath C. (Terri) Gibson, Bluffton, IN., Grandchildren - Chase Gibson,

Haley Gibson, and Isla Gibson, all of Bluffton, IN.

He was preceded in death by his Father - John Henry Gibson, and Mother - Vesta (Harold) Gibson.

Alma R. Boles, 70, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 3:47 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN.  She was born on Wednesday, March 27, 1946, in Covington, KY.  She married Jerry Leon Boles.  Alma was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Alma loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Orin Grogan

Orin Lewis Grogan, 80, of Heritage Pointe in Warren, Indiana, passed away on May 7, 2016, having lived a full, rich life despite a 26-year struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Parsons, Kansas to Archie and Lois (Oler) Grogan on February 12, 1936. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1954.

Orin earned an education degree from Huntington College where he met and married Velma (Jagger). Receiving a scholarship under the National Defense Education Act, he obtained an advanced degree in mathematics from the University of Arizona in 1970. A teacher for 33 years, Orin possessed the unique personality and sense of humor needed to teach middle school math for the majority of his career at Lafayette Park Middle School in Kokomo, Indiana.

Orin was the proud father of two daughters and shared his life with his loving wife, Velma, for nearly 60 years. He was a fiercely loyal St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed attending games in “Baseball Heaven” –St. Louis. He also loved Indiana University and Huntington University basketball and was in the bleachers at Butler Fieldhouse when Milan won the 1954 Indiana State High School Basketball Tournament. Athletic by nature, Orin could always be counted on to hit a home run in family pick-up baseball games. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and could never turn down a card game with family or friends. Orin was blessed with an easy going nature, endearing sense of humor, and unquestioning faith.

Orin is survived by his wife Velma, his daughters Gwen and Glenda, sister Maurine Reed, brother Galen, sister-in-law Carol Ratto (husband Anthony), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marion, and his brother-in-law Noel Reed.

Both visitation and a celebration of life will take place at Heritage Pointe in Warren on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. followed directly by a celebration of life officiated by Pastor Gerald Moreland. Orin will be laid to rest at Gardens of Memory in Marion, Indiana, in a private ceremony at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to Heritage Pointe RockSteady Boxing for Parkinson’s, 801 Huntington Avenue, Warren, Indiana  46792. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Heritage Pointe and most especially the staff of 1B who have so lovingly cared for Orin through thick and thin, talking sports with him, and laughing at his jokes.

Paul E. Bryan

Paul E. Bryan, 91, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 9:55 PM on Sunday, May 01, 2016 at Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, March 03, 1925, in Wells County, IN.  He married Helen I. Murray Bryan on Saturday, June 22, 1946 in Wells County, Indiana.  Mr. Bryan was a 1942 graduate of Petroleum High School.  He was an Adams and Wells Co. farmer.  He had worked as an Accountant and had also worked at Precision in Berne, IN for 18 years.  He enjoyed gardening and working.  He had also loved the Lord Jesus.
 
Survivors include: sons - Randall Bryan, Geneva, IN and Jeffery (wife, Rebecca) Bryan, Berne, IN; 4-grandchildren and 4-great grandchildren
 
He was preceded in death by his: wife - Helen I. (Murray) Bryan; parents- Rev. William Glen and Iva (Stout) Bryan; brother - Dwight Bryan and daughter-in-law - Rose Bryan
