Janice E. Williams, 77, of Warren, IN, passed away at 11:18 AM on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Tuesday, October 4, 1938, in Huntington County, IN to Albert & Louise (Thompson) Pinkerton. She married Jerry  Williams on Saturday, September 10, 1966 in Warren.  Janice was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson High School and in her eariler years attended the Jefferson Church. She was a 50 year member of the United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Joy class. Janice was a former secretary at Heritage Pointe and Dye Insurance Agency.  She formerly worked at First National Bank in Huntington as a teller. She was a member of the Gingham Gals. She enjoyed cake decorating and was a member of Tri Kappa.

 

Survivors: Husband - Jerry Grant Williams, Warren, IN, Son - Larry (Kathy) Williams, Lafayette, IN, Son - James (Michelle) Williams, Warren, IN, Son - Steven (Patricia) Williams, La Plata, MD, Son - Kevin (Melinda) Smith, Warren, IN, Son - Jeffrey (Brooke) Williams, Greenwood, IN, Brother - Eugene Pinkerton, Los Angeles, CA, Brother - James (Mona) Pinkerton, Warren, IN, Brother - Ronnie Pinkerton, Florida, , Sister - Connie Bowers, Huntington, IN, Several Nieces & Nephews, 15 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her: Father - Albert Pinkerton, Mother - Louise (Thompson) Pinkerton, Daughter - Janet Williams, 1 Grandchild, and 1 Great Grandchild.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at United Church Of Christ 202 E. 2nd Warren IN 46792 on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 8:00PM.

 

A service to celebrate Janice’s life will be at United Church Of Christ at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2016 with Rev. Scott Nedberg officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.

Catherine J. Bartlett

Catherine J. Bartlett, 95, of Pennville, IN, passed away at 8:35 PM on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Millers Merry Manor in Dunkirk, IN.  She was born on December 08, 1920, in Washington D.C. She married Clarence Bartlett in 1951. She and Clarence moved to Indiana in 1952 where she was a homemaker.

Survivors Include: Sons - Robert V. (Sally) Bartlett, Richmond, VT., John R. Bartlett, Geneva, IN., Michael E. (Karen) Bartlett, Pennville, IN., Daughter - Marie L. (Jay) Holloway, Hartford City, IN., 7 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren.

 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Bartlett in 2005.

Karl-Heinz P. Harte

Karl-Heinz P. Harte, 79, of Van Buren, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Marion General Hospital.

Karl was born May 20, 1937, in Oranienburg, E. Germany to the late Fritz and Dora Harte. He immigrated to the United States in 1957, obtained citizenship, and served his new country in the National Guard.

As a teen in So. Germany, Karl learned a trade in cabinet and furniture making. He brought those skills to his new home and successfully built his own business in Marion, IN, the Professional Cabinet Company. Those who knew Karl, knew him to have excellent woodworking skills. An outdoor enthusiast and avid cycler, he rode his bicycle from coast to coast on multiple occasions, the most recent in 2015. Karl was an active member of the Van Buren Lions Club and a regular volunteer at the Switchup Youth Center. He attended the Nazarene Church in Van Buren.

Survivors include: his wife of forty-six years, Willadean; brothers Peter Harte, Gerhard Harte, Ulrich Harte, and Dieter Piel;sister Christine Nitz; sons Karl A. Harte, Klaus Harte, Kurt Harte, and Kenneth Harte; daughter Heidi Galvan; stepson Mike Hall; stepdaughter Kim Swagger, thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents; Karl was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Nancy Price.

In keeping with Karl's wishes, his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held onThursday June 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Van Buren Church of the Nazarene, 305 S 1st St. Van Buren, IN.. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Switchup Youth Center PO Box 376 Van Buren, IN 46991. Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home Van Buren, IN.

Glen Dale Mathys

Glen Dale Mathys, 58, of Decatur, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at his home in Decatur.  He was born on Sunday, February 16, 1958, in Adams County, IN to Raymon and Norma Jean (Longenecker) Mathys.  Glen was a 1976 graduate of South Adams High School. Right after high school he went to work at Bunge North American in Decatur, where he was still currently employed. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and especially spending time with his family.

 

Loving survivors include: Daughter - Stacy (Casey Keirn) Mathys, Ft. Wayne, IN, Son - Matt (April) Mathys, Ft. Wayne, IN, Grandchildren - Drew Mathys and Tristan Mathys, Sisters - Tina Mathys, Anita Mathys, Vicki Boolman and Lisa Neuenschwander.

 

He was preceded in death by his: Mother - Norma Jean (Longenecker) Mathys, Father - Raymon Glen Mathys and Granddaughter - Madison Mathys.

Martha "Sue" Capper, 74, of Montpelier, IN, passed away peacefully  at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her  home in Montpelier, IN.  She was born on Sunday, October 19, 1941, in Missouri.  She married Billie Ray Capper on Friday, June 12, 1959 in Hartford City.  Sue attended Grace Baptist Church in Montpelier. She was a homemaker and a cook and janitor for Southern Wells schools. She was a member of the Gamma Nu Women’s Life Ins. Society, and Fisher Body Sympathy Club. Sue enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening.
