Amanda (Schwartz) Hilty, 91, of Monroe, IN, passed away at 8:55 AM on Monday, June 29, 2015 at her residence in Monroe, IN.  She was born on Friday, March 21, 1924, in Adams Co., IN.  She married Andrew  Hilty on Thursday, December 19, 1946 in Adams Co.  Amanda was a homemaker and a member of the Old Amish Church.

Survivors Include: Son - Jerome A. (Wife, Bertha) Hilty, Berne, IN., Daughter - Anna A. (Husband, John K.) Schwartz, Monroe, IN., Son - Martin A.(Wife, Elizabeth) Hilty, Monroe, IN., Son - Ernest A. Hilty, Monroe, IN., Brother - Levi H. Schwartz, Monroe, IN., Brother - Menno H. Schwartz, Montgomery, IN., 29 Grandchildren and 117 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Daniel A. Schwartz, Mother - Maryann (Hochstler) Schwartz, Husband - Andrew A. Hilty, Daughter - Mary Ann Hilty, Son - Joseph A. Hilty, Daughter - Lucinda Hilty, Son - Daniel Hilty, Son - Levi A. Hilty, Son - Eldon A. Hilty, Son - Mahlon A. Hilty, Sister - Sarah Schwartz, Sister - Emma Wickey,

Sister - Mattie Wickey, Brother - William H. Schwartz, Brother - Henry H. Schwartz, and Brother - Amos H. Schwartz.

 

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at the Residence 1891 S. 100 E. Monroe on Wednesday, July 01, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the residence ,Thursday, July 02, 2015.

 

A service to celebrate Amanda’s  life will be at the Residence 1891 S. 100 E. Monroe at 9:00 AM on Friday, July 03, 2015 with the Bishop Jacob M. Shetler officiating.  Interment will follow in the Schwartz Cemetery in Berne.

Mary Pauline Towns, 91, formerly of Lagrange and Bluffton, IN.  passed away at 7:43 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton.  She was born on Monday, June 23, 1924, in Well Co., IN.   Mary graduated from Liberty Center High School. Ellen K. Elliott, 92, of Hartford City, Indiana passed away at 4:25 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitaion in La Fontaine, IN.  She was born on Tuesday, June 05, 1923, in Hartford City, IN. to the late Issack and Emily (Mash) Jones.  She married Richard Elliott on Sunday, May 27, 1945 in Montpelier, IN. They enjoyed 29 years together. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2 1974.  Ellen attended Montpelier Schools. She formerly attended Pleasantdale U.M. Church. She enjoyed camping, crafts, and crocheting. She was a member of the Hartford City Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker.  Survivors Include:

Son - Richard E. Elliott, Hartford City, IN., Son - Waynedale L. (Wife, Doralee (Bastin) Elliott, St. James, MO.  Granddaughter- Kareyann E. Elliott, Sullivan, MO.,  Grandson- Waynedale L. Elliott Jr. De Sota MO., Grandson- Billieray D. Elliott, St. James MO. Sister-Barbara (Jones) Bolen, Wabash, IN.,  and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Catherine S. Crosby

Catherine Starr Crosby, 92, passed away in her home on June 28, 2015.  Born January 14, 1923, in Wells County, Catherine was a daughter of John and Margaret (Starr) Minnich. She had three brothers, Ralph, Robert Dale and Roger, and two sisters, Vera Mae Minnich Cochran, and Nancy Minnich Thompson.  She was raised on a farm in the southern part of Wells County.

 

Catherine graduated from Chester Center School in 1940.  She married Verlice ‘Spud’ Crosby on December 21, 1940.  Spud and Katie were the parents of three children, Marilyn (John) Maddox, Dick (Barb) Crosby and Patricia ‘Joy’ Liddy Beer.  Catherine lived in her home for over 70 years

 

In addition to being the wife of a farmer, a mother and a homemaker, Catherine was the office manager for Habig Trucking for 40 years. She retired in 2003, at the age of 80.

 

Catherine spent her life as a faithful servant to God.  She attended Chester Center Church the majority of her life and has attended the Keystone Methodist Church for the past several years.

 

Catherine is survived by two children, nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; two siblings and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Spud, her youngest child Joy, one great-grandson Casey Montgomery and three siblings, Ralph, Vera Mae and Robert Dale.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1 from 4 to 8 pm.  Funeral services will be Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 am with Pastor Marlene Ellis officiating.  Burial will follow at the Miller Cemetery, Poneto, Indiana.

Michael Hall, 62, of Huntington, IN, passed away at 11:06 PM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Monday, October 20, 1952, in Huntington, IN.  He married Dee Ann  Dobson on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Michael was a graduate of Huntington North Highschool. Mr. Hall was Co-owner and operator of the Pickle Lounge and Northside Lanes. He was an avid golfer and bowler. His favorite places to play were Norwood Golf Course, Rainbow Lanes, and Oak Lanes. Michael enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and I.U. he also enjoyed teaching bowling.

 

Survivors include his Wife - Dee Ann Dobson, Huntington, IN, Daughter - Erin (Larry) Billian, Fort Wayne, IN, Daughter - Lori (Bryan) Taueg, Fishers, IN, Daughter - Kelly (Brent) Antesberger, Chicago, IL, Son - Rick (Tabby) Hall, Huntington, IN, Sister - Marcia Ruppert, Perrysburg, OH, Sister - Connie Eckert, Huntington, IN, Brother - Pat Hall, Huntington, IN, Sister - Phyllis Frye, Greenville, SC, his 8 Grandchildren Leshaya, Grant, Mekyla, Lincoln, Ella, Maggi, Reagan, and Quinn, and Several Nieces and Nephews,
