Rosalea B. Myers

Rosalea Byall Myers, 86, died Monday, April 20th, at 1:00 a.m.  Rosalea was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Frank.  Rosalea was Frank’s business partner, first mate, and editor.  She was Frank’s inspiration for his story of the Incredible Sparrow.  Rosalea is survived by her four children, Steven Myers and wife Donna of Sequin, Texas, Sharon Downhour and husband Stuart of Montpelier, Indiana, Richard Myers and wife Claudia of Naples, Florida, and Ronald Myers of San Francisco, California.  In addition, Lea leaves five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held at Dobie’s Funeral Home in New Port Richey on Friday, April 24th between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Gulfside Hospice of New Port Richey, Florida.  Donation envelopes will be available at Friday’s service.

 A viewing will be held at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St,  Montpelier, IN.  Wednesday, April 29th between the hours of 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. followed by graveside services at Asbury Chapel in Wells County, Indiana.

Rose M. Bryan

Rose Marie Bryan, 61, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 3:29 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Sunday, October 18, 1953, in Wells County, IN.  She married Randy Bryan on Saturday, June 26, 1982 in Wells County, IN.  Mrs. Bryan was a 1972 graduate of South Adams High School. Rose was employeed at South Adams High School as a Librarian Aid. She then went on to become the Head Librarian of Geneva where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.  She was a member of the State Library Board. Rose was also a member of the Herbal Club, as well as Geneva Proud. She was very active in her church. Rose loved reading, crocheting, and making Afghans.

 Survivors include her Husband - Randy Bryan, Geneva, IN, Son - Tim (Alina) Bryan, Portland, IN, Brother - David (Tammy) Teeple, Berne, IN, Brother - Dwight (Lonnie) Teeple, Berne, IN, Brother - Dale (Judy) Teeple, Bancroft, MI, Brother - Dee (Becky) Teeple, Berne, IN, Sister - Beverly (Clarence) Zimmerman, Bluffton, IN, Sister - Janet (Jim) Dennison, Berne, IN, and Grandchild - Malachi James Ray Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her Father – Harvey Teeple, Mother - Edith (Moeschberger) Teeple

 A service to celebrate her life will be at Asbury United Methodist Church Portland, IN,  at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 27, 2015 with Pastor Tim Dilley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Alberson Cemetery in Geneva.

Susan K. Minch, 68, of Portland, IN, passed away at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015 at her residence in Portland, IN.  She was born on Saturday, February 22, 1947, in Warsaw, IN.  She married Donald H. Minch  on Wednesday, May 31, 1967 in Mentone, IN.  Susan was a graduate of Mentone High School and also Ft. Wayne Cosmetology School, where she obtained her beautician's license. She worked at Stoneridge Factory in Portland. For many years Susan operated a ceramics business out of her home. She enjoyed sewing, painting and baking in her free time.

Inez Maro Whinery

Inez Maro Whinery, 94, of Warren,Indiana, went home to be with the Lord April 18, 2015 at 6:48 am at Heritage Pointe, Warren.

            Maro was born August 20, 1920, inSampsel, Oklahomato Ernest and Ethel (Abbott) Lowery.  She married Gene Whinery on August 27, 1942, in Huntington.  He preceded her in death on October 24, 2012.

            Maro graduated in 1939 fromRockCreekTownshipHigh School,Warren.  She completedComptometerSchoolinFt.Waynein 1941.  After marriage she worked at G.E.,Fort Wayne; Fleetwings, Inc.,Bristol,Pa.; andPurdueUniversity,West Lafayette.  After moving toOhioin 1953, she was a bus driver and office worker for the Franklin County Department of Mental Retardation. Gene and Maro were active in the Merry Weds fellowship group of the Worthington UM Church while inOhio. Maro volunteered at St. Rita’s Hospital,Lima,OHwhile Gene was at General Dynamics. After moving into Heritage Pointe in 2004, she volunteered by delivering mail and working in the library.  She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and gardener and enjoyed making clothes, baking pies for numerous family, church and school events, and growing African violets.

             Survivors include a daughter, Ann (Fred) Crowner, two sons, Dan (Peggy) Whinery and Dale (Katharine) Whinery; seven grandchildren: Beth and Charles Crowner, Zach and Zeb Whinery, and Nathanael, Lindsay, and Tiffany Whinery; a special little friend, Raymond; and 19 nieces and nephews: Marge, Shirley, Yvonne, Girlene, Gerald, Allen, Marsha Kay; Galen, Carol, Karen, Tom, Mary Kay, Mike, Jerry, Jim, Dorrel, Kim, Heather, Sarah.

            She was preceded in death by: Father – Ernest S. Lowery, Mother – Ethel L. (Abbott) Lowery, Sister – Helen Wilson, Brothers – Marshall and Robert Lowery, Nephew – Daryl Lowery.

            Visitation is 1:00-3:00 pm, Saturday, April 25, at Applegate Chapel, Heritage Pointe, Warren, with funeral service at 3:15 pm with Rev. Galen Lowery officiating.  Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster.

Myron Brunner Gearheart

Myron Brunner Gearheart, 96, of Jackson Twp., Wells County, IN., passed away at 10:30 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.  He was born on Monday, June 03, 1918, in Howard County, IN.  He married Barbara Coleen Hosier on Saturday, August 17, 1940 in Logansport, IN; she passed away on March 25, 2009.  Myron attended Irvin High School in Howard County. He was a member of the Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church. Myron retired from Anaconda Wire and Cable Company in Marion, IN., after many years of service. He enjoyed working in his yard and especially spending time with all of his grandkids.

 

Survivors include: Son - Dr. Robert Dygert (Wife, Anita) Gearheart, Ashland, OR., Daughter - Patty (Husband, Dale) Slusher, Warren, IN., Daughter - Mary Lee Herr, Warren, IN., 10 Grandchildren , 18 Great Grandchildren  and 11 Gr. Gr. Grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his: Parents - Alva & Adella (Brunner) Gearheart, Wife - Barbara Coleen (Hosier) Gearheart, Son in Law - Philip Herr, Brother-James Gearheart and Sister-June Conwell.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

 

A service to celebrate Myron’s life will be at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2015; viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.  Myron’s son, Dr. Robert Dygert Gearheart will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery in rural Warren.
