C. Dean Burgess, 69, of Portland, IN, passed away at 11:31 AM on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Monday, January 19, 1948, in Adams County, IN.  He married Jeannie Lorraine (Rines) Burgess on Friday, April 05, 1985 in Jay County, IN.  C. Dean graduated in the last class to graduate from Geneva High School in 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He had worked at Jinny's gas station in Bryant,IN, Bearcreek Crossing, Pak-A-Sak in Bryant, IN, and Pak-A-Sak in Berne, IN. He also transported Amish. C. Dean was a member of the Portland American Legion Post #211.

(Eric) Burgess, Iowa City, IA, Daughter - Amanda Crystal (Josh Spoltman) Robinson, Bryant, IN, Son - Dean Lucas Burgess, Portland, IN, Father-In-Law - Dick Rines, Portland, IN, Granddaughter - Brooklyn Jean Spoltman, Companion- Sharon Shawver, Geneva, IN, Sister - Josephine Prince, Camden, TN, Brothers - Sonny Burgess, Portland, IN, and Darrell Burgess, Geneva, IN.

 

 

He was preceded in death by his Father - Wilford R. Burgess, Mother - Velma M. (Jack) Burgess,

Wife - Jeannie Lorraine (Rines) Burgess,  Sister - Elenore Kenestrick, Brothers - Paul Burgess, and Bill Burgess.

 

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at First United Methodist Church Annex Geneva, IN 100 W. Line St Geneva on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

 

A service to celebrate C. Dean’s life will be at First United Methodist Church Annex, Geneva at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 with the Rev. Paul VanCise    officiating.  Interment will be at the Little Salamonie Cemetery, Portland, IN. on Friday January 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM.

 

Preferred memorials:  Bryant Wesleyan Church   or    To The Family.
