Joseph Arthur Satterthwaite, 82, of Huntington County, IN, passed away at 7:50 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Wednesday, August 29, 1934, in Huntington Co., IN.  He married Barbara Rose Satterthwaite on Saturday, June 1, 1957 in Huntington, IN. she passed away on August 29, 2009.  Joseph was a 1952 graduate of Monument City High School. He was a restaurant manager and ran "The Spot" restaurant in Huntington with his Dad and brother Bob. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and fast pitch softball. In High School he held the Huntington Co. record for the mile run. Joseph was always proud of being from Monument City. He loved watching Cubs baseball and was very happy when they won the World Series.

Loving Survivors Include: Sons - Joseph Arthur Satterthwaite, Jr., Ann Arbor, MI,  Robert William (Christine) Satterthwaite, Greer, SC, David Lee Satterthwaite, Westmont, IL, Douglas Jay(Paulette) Satterthwaite, Fort Wayne, IN, Brothers - Charles Satterthwaite, Jr., Huntington, IN,  William Satterthwaite, Chicago, IL, 13 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his Father - Charles Satterthwaite, Mother - Ruth (Kramer) Satterthwaite,

Wife - Barbara Rose Satterthwaite, Son - Jack Allen Satterthwaite, Sister - Rhea Gornia, and Sister - Nanette Caley.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Joseph’s life will be at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home  at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017 with  Pastor Phil Schamehorn   officiating.  Interment will follow in the Monument City Cemetery in Huntington.
