Ric Routledge, 67, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 9:17 PM on Sunday, October 08, 2017 at his residence in Montpelier, IN. He was born on Monday, August 28, 1950, in Muncie, IN. Ric was a 1968 graduate of Montpelier High School. He graduated from Ball State University with a degree in journalism. Ric served his county in the US Army in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. He was owner and publisher of the Canine Chronicle Publication. He had been a reporter for the Marion Chronicle and Muncie Star Press. After retirement he had the Routledge Report which was a weekly report that he emailed of human interest stories in the community. He was an avid pilot, and an international traveler. He was a member of the Millard Brown American Legion and had been on the executive board of the American Legion. Ric was very active and influential in the American Kennel Club.
Loving Survivors Include his Brother - Don (Janet) Routledge, Wildersville, TN, and Nephew - Douglas Routledge, Huron, TN.
He was preceded in death by his Father - George Routledge, Mother - Sophia (Spears) Routledge,
Brother - Ronald Routledge, and Nephew - Gregory Routledge.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Ric’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017 with Martin Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
