James D. Bothast, Sr., 75, of Bluffton, IN, formerly of Montpelier passed away at 12:55 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN.  He was born on Thursday, January 01, 1942, in Union City, IN.  He married Karon I. (Meyer)  Bothast on Sunday, February 11, 1962 at the Keystone Methodist Church.  Mr. Bothast was a 1960 graduate of Montpelier High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montpelier. He had retired in 2004 from Bluffton Rubber Company. He had formerly worked for Sheller Globe in Montpelier, and Essex Wire in Marion. He was a 50 year member of the Montpelier Masonic Lodge # 600 F&AM. James had been happily married for 55 years.  He was a Ham  Radio Operator, and enjoyed fishing, and hunting.

 

Loving Survivors Include: Wife - Karon I. (Meyer) Bothast, Bluffton, IN, Daughters - Amy (husband, Jett) Spencer, Willow Park, TX , Lori (husband, Brent) Poe, May, TX, several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, and Brother - Robert (wife, Galina) Bothast, Montpelier, IN.

 

He was preceded in death by his Father - Donald Herbert Bothast, Mother - Doloris R. (Ross) Bothast, Brother - David A. Bothast, and Son - James D. Bothast, Jr.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Masonic service will be held at 3:45 PM.

 

A service to celebrate his life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home  at 4:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 with the Pastor Laura High  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier, IN.
