Ronald G. Spade, Sr., 83, of Berne, IN, passed away at 11:19 AM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home in Berne, IN. He was born on Wednesday, February 07, 1934, in Bluffton, IN. He married Patricia B. Parker on Saturday, April 19, 1969 in Phoenix, Arizona. Ron was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Taylor University with a Master’s of education and taught for several years at South Adams. He was a former Jr. High basketball coach and track coach at South Adams. He was a member of the Indiana Teachers Association, South Adams teachers PAC committee and the Edelweiss Singers. Ron was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Berne, where he was very active in the church youth and music ministries.

(Parker) Spade, Berne, IN, Son - Ron Spade II, Decatur, IN, Daughter - Tricia (Mike) Spade Howard, South Whitley, IN, Daughter - Marisa (Monty) Spade Goldston, Lebanon, OH, Daughter - Heidi (Jon) Spade Zapolski, Lebanon, OH, Brother - Don Spade, Berne, IN, 12 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his: Father - Glenn Spade and Mother - Elizabeth (Ebnit) Spade.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at First Mennonite Church 566 W. Main St. Berne on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A service to celebrate Ron’s life will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Flueckiger officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
