Glancy Funeral Homes StaffOur Background

As a family-owned funeral home, we take pride in our profession. We are able to provide any special services in a caring and comforting way: before, during and after the service. When a family suffers the loss of a loved one, it is comforting to know that the funeral director and staff will take the time in making your service unique, reflecting the loved one who had passed away. For decades, Glancy Funeral Homes have been serving Montpelier, Warren, Geneva and Van Buren and the surrounding communities. Since 1841 our services have been characterized by sympathetic understanding and complete attention to detail, which has been realized and perfected over the years.

 

 Our Staff

Jeffery W. Glancy: President, Glancy Funeral Homes

           Jeff has been affiliated with the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home since 1969. A 1973 graduate of Blackford High School, Jeff is very well known in the community having grown up in the area. In 1987, Jeff became the owner and operator of the Walker Funeral Home, then changing the name to Walker & Glancy Funeral Home. Jeff is a 1975 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. Over the years, he has added three other locations to the Glancy family name. The addtional funeral homes include: Glancy- H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren, Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, and the Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home in Van Buren.

          Jeff is very involved with the communities he serves. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and Fire Department all of Montpelier. He is the President of the Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, Montpelier. He and his wife Trudie have one daughter, Shannon Marie Glancy.

  

Trudie Glancy: Glancy Funeral Homes
         Trudie, the wife of Jeff Glancy, is the long time Secretary/Treasurer of Glancy Funeral Homes. A 1979 graduate of Blackford High School, Trudie and Jeff have been married since 1984. She is a member of the Montpelier Tri Kappa Sorority, Montpelier Kiwanis, Montpelier Jamboree Committee and the Montpelier Chamber of Commerce.

 

Shannon M. Glancy: Vice-President, Glancy Funeral Homes
         Shannon is the daughter of Jeff and Trudie Glancy. She was born and raised in Montpelier, Indiana. She is a 2005 graduate of Blackford High School, 2009 graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, and a 2011 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service-Jeffersonville, Indiana. In Mortuary School, Shannon served as her class secretary and is a current member of the Mu Sigma Alpha and Pi Sigma Eta Fraternities. She is currently serving a three year term on the Warren Chamber Board as the Secretary. Shannon received her Indiana Funeral Directors license in 2012. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and likes to run.

 

John Pontius: Glancy Funeral Homes
          John is a Blackford County native, having been born and raised in the Blackford County community. He is a 1986 graduate of Blackford High School. In his free time John, his wife Amy and five children enjoy camping. He is very involved in his children’s activities and he is a member of the Montpelier First Baptist Church. He has worked for Glancy Funeral Homes since 1994.

 

David M. Harriett: Glancy Funeral Homes
          David is a 1985 graduate of Bluffton High School-Bluffton, Indiana where he was born and raised; however he now resides in Montpelier, Indiana. He is also a graduate of Mid-American College of Funeral Service, where he received his Associates Degree in Funeral Service. While in mortuary school, David served as Senior Artist of the Pi Sigma Eta National Mortuary Fraternity. He enjoys spending time with his family. David is a member of the Montpelier Masonic Lodge and serves as the Montpelier Jamboree Co-Chairman. He has been working at Glancy Funeral Homes since 2001.

 

Brian Christman: Glancy-H.Brown & Son
          Brian grew up in Chester Township, Wells County and graduated from Southern Wells High School class of 1998. He is a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Brian cares about people and their needs.  His family has a rich heritage in the funeral service going back five generations to the first mortuary establishment in Ohio in 1831.   Brian resides with his wife Mallory in Warren at the Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home.  They are members of the Southern Wells Community Church, where Brian serves on the "Praise Team Band". They enjoy volunteering and helping in the community. 

 

Dave Ferguson: Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home
          Dave was born and raised in the Van Buren area and well known in the community having served for 50 years at the Ferguson Funeral Home. Dave and his wife Elaine are members of the Van Buren United Methodist Church. He has been a member of the Van Buren Lion’s Club for over 50 years. In his spare time Dave enjoys woodworking and particularly working with oak in the refinishing process.

 

Joe Pickett: Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home
            Joe has been a part of the Van Buren community for many years. He has been working at the funeral home in Van Buren since 1956. He and his wife Martha have been married for 55 years and are members of the Brinker Heights Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indiana. He has also been a member of the Van Buren Lion’s Club for 50 years. In his spare time he enjoys going camping.

 

Bob Coffield: Walker & Glancy Funeral Home
          Bob is a lifetime resident of Montpelier. He served in the United States Army and is a member of the Millard-Brown American Legion Post #156. He and his wife Janet attend the First Baptist Church, Montpelier and have one son, Jim. He retired in 1996 from Greif Brothers Industrial Packaging in Albany, Indiana.  Bob was a longtime member of the Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department and he enjoys fishing and gardening in his spare time. He has been associated with the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home since the 1950's.

 

Bob Heaston: Glancy-H.Brown & Son
          Bob was born and raised in Warren. He has worked at the Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home since 1990. He is a member of the Bluffton VFW and the American Legion. He was a 1944 graduate of Lancaster High School, Huntington County. He retired after 31 years of service from the Warren Post Office. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was stationed in the Philippine Islands, seving with the South Pacific Theater. Bob and his wife Wiladene have been married since 1948 and are members of the Salamonie Church of the Brethren, Huntington County.  In his spare time, Bob and his wife like to go out to eat, fish, and go bowling.

 

Charles Ewart: Downing & Glancy Funeral Home
          Charlie is well known in the Geneva community having served at the Downing & Glancy Funeral Home for over 20 years. He is originally from the Wells County area. Charlie and his wife Veda Mae are members of the Bluffton Nazarene Church. In his spare time, Charlie enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids. He also likes going to the National Quartet Convocation.

 

Jean R. Landis: Walker & Glancy Funeral Home
          Jean and his wife Mary Jane (Grove) Landis are residents of Montpelier. They have two daughters, Barbara A. Thurman and Janet Sue Johnson, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jean retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers: Local 855. He is a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army. His hobbies include woodworking and spending time with his family. Jean and his wife Mary Jane are members of the Pleasantdale United Methodist Church, Montpelier.

 

Charlie Boxell: Glancy-H.Brown & Son
          Charlie graduated from the Warren High School class of 1951. He worked at the Ford Garage in Warren for 23 years. He now owns and operates a car garage out of his home since 2002. Charlie was a member of the Warren Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years and was the Assistant Chief for 20 years. He and his wife Beverly have been married for 60 years. In their spare time Charlie and his wife enjoy spending time with their family and taking evening walks through the town of Warren.

 

Kevin Nestleroad: Glancy Funeral Homes
          Kevin is a 1998 graduate of Blackford High School. He has lived in Montpelier since 1982 and has worked for Glancy Funeral Homes since 2006. He takes care of all remodeling projects, general repairs and composes the memorial DVD’s at all four locations. He is a member of the Vintage Motor Bike Club and the Tri-Sate Gas Engine & Tractor Association. He enjoys spending time at his family farm.

 

Maria Thiery: Walker & Glancy Funeral Home
          Maria has lived most of her life in Montpelier. She retired from Pacetter Bank in Montpelier, Indiana and serves on the town council. In her free time, she enjoys attending sporting events. She is a member of the Psi Itoa Xi Sorority, Montpelier Jamboree Committee and St. John’s Catholic Church in Hartford City, Indiana.

 

Brent Crouch: Downing & Glancy Funeral Home
          Brent is a current resident of Geneva, Indiana and is originally from Dunkirk, Indiana. He is the son of Tom and Sandy Crouch, Dunkirk. He has worked for Glancy Funeral Homes since 2005. He enjoys football, hockey, and working out.
